The Dubai Land Department (DLD) recently hosted the ‘She Pioneers’ event, celebrating the remarkable achievements of women in the real estate sector. The event underscored women’s vital role in driving sustainable growth and fostering increased female investment within Dubai’s booming real estate market.
Prominent figures such as Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan Al Maktoum, Sheikha Shamsa bint Hasher Al Maktoum, Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid (Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai) attended the event. Their presence highlighted the significance of women’s contributions to the industry.
A significant outcome of the event was the launch of the ongoing ‘She Pioneers’ programme, designed to create continuous opportunities for women in real estate. A key component of this programme is the ‘Women in Real Estate Charter’, aiming to expand women’s opportunities and enhance their roles within the market. Additionally, the ‘Real Estate Women’s Club’ was introduced as a platform for networking among industry leaders and experts, while the ‘Women Of Wealth’ digital platform is set to empower women in real estate investment by promoting a broader concept of wealth that incorporates knowledge and social equity, alongside financial assets.
With 50,979 investments totaling AED 118 billion, women make up 34% of all real estate investors, meanwhile, over 33,900 investments are held by Emirati women, who also account for 25% of all real estate brokerage transactions in Dubai, said Majida Ali Rashid, CEO of the Real Estate Development Sector at Dubai Land Department.
She also pointed out that the number of female investors in Dubai’s real estate market has grown from 193 in 2023 to 200 in 2024, confirming Dubai’s standing as a top global investment destination for women.
The event also featured a session called “She Innovates,” which featured motivational presentations of success stories from women who have had a big influence in the real estate industry.
The UAE leadership’s goal of empowering women as a key pillar of economic development is in line with the Dubai Land Department’s ongoing commitment to this goal and to increasing women’s involvement in the real estate industry.
